The U.S. Constitution addresses birthright citizenship in the Fourteenth Amendment, which states:

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."
— U.S. Constitution, Amendment XIV, Section 1

This clause establishes that anyone born in the U.S. (with limited exceptions, such as children of foreign diplomats) is automatically a U.S. citizen.

Documents were gathered through an electronic database search using the following search terms: ( "Birthright citizenship" [in the same sentence with]  (racism or racial or race or tribe or tribal or indigenous or indian or "native Hawaiian" or "native American" or Black or African or Latin! or Hispanic or Asian or "Pacific Islander")

The documents were not reviewed and may only be tangentially related to the topic. Furthermore, it is possible that an inappropriate article is included in the database.
